Hot rolled hollow sections
Hot rolled hollow sections are also used in the construction of bridges, industrial plants and sport arenas. In modern architecture, hot rolled hollow sections are increasingly more often used as visible structure elements. By means of its high resistance, hollow sections make narrow structures that allow architects implement light and fancy solutions. This not only concerns architecture based on steel and glass which strives to minimize the dimensions of the proper bearing structure.
Advantages of hot rolled hollow sections:
Due to the smaller angle radius, the hot rolled hollow sections commonly have a larger cross section than the cold formed hollow sections. The advantages of hot rolled hollow sections increase together with larger wall thicknesses. This practically means that having the same dimensions of cold and hot hollow sections, it is possible to assume larger loads in case of the hot rolled hollow sections. In other words, assuming identical strains, larger safety level can be achieved.
Grades: Our offer includes hot rolled hollow sections in the standard grade S355J2H, but also in grades, such as: S355J0H, S420NH, S460NH and other (see table below).
Dimension range: we offer the following hollow sections:
- Square from 40x40mm up to 400x400mm (larger dimensions to be confirmed),
- Rectangular from 50x30mm up to 500x300mm (larger dimensions to be confirmed),
- Wall thickness (depending on the external dimensions) from 2,9mm up to 25mm,
- Standard lengths of hollow sections: 6m i 12m (other lengths to be confirmed).
Quality certificates: We deliver the hot rolled hollow sections with test certificate 3.1 (3.2 certificate to be confirmed).
