Electroplated sheets in coils

During the process of electroplating, a layer of zinc is spread on the steel sheet as a result of the existing magnetic field. The prreviously purified coils run through 17 electrode posts and receive zinc
plating on one or both sides. This coating consists of almost 100% pure zinc plating. The focusedspeed control of the coil and electric power allow for setting the zinc plating with high accuracy between 2,5 and 15 micrometers with various set-ups for both sides.

In 2018, Salzgitter Flachstahl has modernized the electroplating processes and is now offering a wider range of dimensions and grades. It is now possible to produce dimensions with thicknesses up to three millimeters and widths up to 1850 millimeters.

We can now offer not only structural steel and for deep drawing, but also grades with high yield strength for cold forming and isotropic steel grades. The sheets are produced acc. to both EN as well as VDA 230-100 norms.
